El síndrome de Lima // Lima´s syndrome

¿Lima?, ¿Lima?

¿Lima?, ¿Lima? If we all ask ourselves this question, it come to our head that Lima is the capital of Peru or City of the Kings, but it is also a syndrome. Best known is its opposite, the Stockholm syndrome. People affected in this case are the kidnappers, they begin to empathize with the hostages in charge and they become more understandable.

The term was coined from an incident at the Japanese embassy in Lima in 1996. The Tupac Amaru Revolutionary Movement (MRTA), specifically 14 members, took hundreds of hostages (political, diplomatic and military) for several days. Over the day, the hijackers began to understand the situation of the hostages and were releasing the hostages.
