Who has not heard stories about Jerusalem?. Well, some of these stories are "believed" or accepted more than usual ... Hence was born the characteristic set of symptoms known as the "Jerusalem Syndrome." It affects not only the tourists, it also can happen to a native.
This is a set of mental reactions that revolve around the presence of obsessive religious ideas, delusions or other psychotic experiences that are triggered by the visit to this city. The most affected are the Jews and Christians, while not endemic to a single religion or place.
The characters they most closely identify belong to the Bible, including Moses, King David, Jesus of Nazareth or John the Baptist. The religion they profess is crucial to choose the character, the Jews imitate characters of the Old Testament and the Christians of New one. There are almost no cases of Muslims. Are often dressed with robes or blankets.
