Cada 22 de diciembre se paraliza España, esperando que todos nuestros deseos se hagan realidad. Cada uno tiene los suyos: un viaje alrededor del mundo, una casa, pagar la hipoteca y las deudas, irse de compras a lo Pretty Woman... La loteria, nacida en Cádiz en 1811 tal cual como la conocemos hoy en día, mueve millones en la península. Todo el mundo tiene como mínimo un décimo o una participación de lotería aquí. ¿En vuestros países existe algo parecido?.
Every December 22, Spain is paralyzed, hoping that all our desires come true. Each one has their owns: travel around the world, a house, to pay the mortgage and the debts, to go away of purchases as Pretty Woman movie... The lottery born in Cadiz in 1811, as is as we know it nowadays, worths millions in the Peninsula. Everyone has, at least, a "tenth" or a "participation" of lottery here. In your countries, does it exist something similar?.
Carlos III fue quien introdujo esta tradición en1763, pero no era igual a la lotería primitiva de ahora. La lotería moderna nació en 1881 para ayudar a la Hacienda Pública que se había quedado resentida tras la Guerra de la Independecia. El primer sorteo se celebró en Cádiz el 4 de marzo de 1812, y ya en Madrid, el 28 de febrero de 1814, como sede de la Lotería Nacional de billetes.
Carlos III was who introduced this tradition in1763, but it wasn't the same than the primitive lottery nowadays. Modern lottery born in 1881 to help to the Public Treasury that had been resentful after the War of Independecer. The first drawing was celebrated in Cadiz on March 4 (1812) and in Madrid, February 28 (1814), as headquarters of the National Lottery of tickets.
Hay sorteos todas las semanas, los jueves y los sábados, y excepcionalmente se celebran varios sorteos extraordinarios al año, que han alcanzado fama internacional y son el Sorteo Extraordinario de Navidad (22 de diciembre, el de hoy) y el Sorteo Extraordinario del Niño (el 6 de enero).
There are drawings every week, Thursdays and Saturdays, and exceptionally several extraordinary drawings are celebrated every year, which they have reached international reputation and are the Extraordinary Drawing of Christmas (December 22, that of today) and the Extraordinary Drawing of the Child (January 6).
