Ayer,17 de marzo, se celebró el día de San Patricio. Todo Manhattan se vistió de verde, hasta el Empire State Building durante la noche. Esta región se llena de júbilo y alegría con sus miles de autóctonos y visitantes. No falta alguna camiseta, gorro o complemento verde que no nos indique que estamos en este día. La gente bebe y grita por las calles.
El desfile recorre toda la 5ª avenida de Nueva York desde las 11 de la mañana hasta las 7 de la tarde. Se celebra para conmemorar el fallecimiento de San Patricio.Es una fiesta procedente de la República de Irlanda pero que se ha extendido por los lugares a los que inmigrantes irlandeses fueron, entre ellos, Nueva York.
Es muy común beber cerveza teñida de verde para celebrar esta festividad. Aunque cualquier bebida alcohólica es buena en este día para los que lo conmemorar, lo correcto sería beber cerveza al ser una fiesta irlandesa en una taberna. Si estáis pensando ir otro año en estas fiestas, os aconsejo que reserveis con antelación porque los hoteles estarán llenos.

There is not absent any vest, cap or green complement that it does not indicate us that we are on this day. The people drink and shout for the streets.
